ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

Named after the Archbishop Abbot, who was Archbishop of Canterbury in the 1600s and born at Guildford, the Foundation serves to award grants to 11-28 year olds within the boroughs of Guildford and Waverley

Our goal is to foster educational achievement and personal growth by offering financial assistance to those facing challenging circumstances. Inspired by Archbishop George Abbot’s legacy, we aim to uplift youth and help them reach their full potential through targeted support and encouragement.

WHAT CAN THE GRANTS BE USED FOR?


Grants can be awarded for the following;

To cover the cost of fees or maintenance at the place of learning. For books, equipment, clothing, tools etc required for a course, or required after a course to prepare for entry in to a profession or trade. To cover the cost or recreational pursuites while at the college or school, including sports, music and other artistic activities.

If you have an opportunity to participate in an education or experience based school trip but don’t have the funds, we can assist in the cost

Virtual Courses

When an online course can help with personal development, or important practical skills then the fund can cover the fees.

Information Technology Resources

Computers and iPads can be an important part of education, or assist where there are medical necessities. We can supply or co-fund such devices to make them more affordable.
